Who we are: Bill and Beverly Paterson,
We are located on FM 1854 between Dale and Lytton Springs Texas. We raise Angus, Brangus and Angus Cross cattle at this time. We are moving toward only Angus and Brangus being serviced by Angus bulls. Our Cattle are naturally raised on pasture, grass finished, we don’t use hormones and they are well cared for. They are raised in an extremely calm environment and most will eat out of our hand which allows for easy management. Antibiotics are not used unless required for some reason out of our control to save a calf.
Our family have been ranchers in Central Texas since Texas was a country. My wife’s great-grandfather Elijah Thomas Lackey purchased 142,42 acres of the 325 acres we run our cattle on now on August 31, 1893. Prior to this purchase he had made smaller acreage purchases that were contiguous to the larger parcel. He raised Hereford cattle while he maintained a ranch on this property. He eventually decided he would move to New Braunfels Texas and he divided the property among his children at that time. My wife’s grandparents Henry and Beulah (Lackey) Pittman bought the other children out and continued to run a cattle operation until they gave the property to Beverly’s mother Vivian Pittman Roberts Lippe who passed away in 2006. Since 2006 Beverly Roberts Paterson and her husband Bill Paterson have operated the ranch. Our son Jared, his wife Katie and our granddaughter Harper Vivian Paterson help out as often as they can.
We wanted to provide a quality product that our customers could serve to their family and friends and feel good about it. We are fully licensed as a food manufacturer with the Texas Department of State Health Services (License # 1026811) and maintain this business as a separate unit from our home. Our cattle go directly from the ranch to the facility of a certified processor and we have our own private label. There is no middle man or feed lot involved. Our cattle are humanely raised, healthy and a product you can be proud to serve at your table. We look forward to doing business with you.
